#7 – Fedor Emelianenko

Fedor is the reason I had to make this for UFC and MMA. Not stepping into the octagon may hurt his legacy for most, but acknowledge greatness. He was the most gifted heavyweight of his time and not fighting in the UFC was not due to lack of talent. Dana White wanted him, but my speculation is that the Russian mafia had other plans.

His playground was Pride. At the time this organization was considered a near equal to the UFC as he fought some of the best in the world. Over his heyday he won 27 consecutive fights.

If given the chance there is no doubt in my mind that Fedor would have held the Heavyweight title at one point in the UFC.

#6 – Daniel Cormier

Ranking DC is tricky. If it weren’t for Jon Jones he would be a top 3 best ufc fighter ever. He followed the McGregor way by becoming a champ-champ in both the light heavyweight and heavyweight division.

Cormier is a world class wrestler who bullies fighters with his pressure. He may not look it, but Cormier has tremendous cardio and it has payed off in the championship rounds.

The only two fighters to beat Cormier are Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic and we won’t be seeing a Jones rematch. Cormier vs Miocic 3 on the other hand should be in the works. In my mind Cormier is a couple of fights away from rising into the top 5.

Top 10 Best Fighters Ever - #5 Khabib Nurmagomedov

Top 10 Best Fighters Ever – #5 Khabib Nurmagomedov

#5 – Khabib Nurmagomedov

You really can’t argue with perfection. Khabib has completely changed the game as there has never been a wrestler as dominant. The results of a child being raised wrestling bears.

This isn’t your type of fighter who could win the fight in the first 30 seconds. Not at all. Khabib is by the books. Disciplined. He will out-wrestle and maul you until you have nothing left in the tank and he keeps going.

That style hurts his overall legacy for some people. In his biggest fights he never won overwhelmingly and when he did win his first title it was after being left vacant by McGregor. He did end up beating McGregor, but he did take some damage.

This is special because he could end up retiring as the best ever. He is that good. In a completely stacked division he is the clear gold standard. Will he ever lose?
