Top 10 Best Running Backs in the NFL 2020 – #4 Dalvin Cook

#4 – Dalvin Cook

This breakout season for Dalvin Cook was long overdue. He was dominant in his first 2 seasons, but they were both cut short due to injury. Cook did miss 2 games last season, but still managed 1654 yards from scrimmage on 13 touchdowns.

The 519 receiving yards are a big separator for Dalvin Cook. He has clearly progressed as a pass catcher which will keep him on the field. The Vikings have one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL and even sharing some of the work with Alexander Mattison, Dalvin Cook will continue to produce at the highest level barring health.

We have seen the flashes of greatness from this rising superstar, but Cook has missed 19 games in his 3 year career.  The chances of him missing at least 1 game next season is more than 50%. To be in that elite top 3 category, he needs to be able to stay healthy.

#3 – Ezekiel Elliott

Don’t let the Ezekiel Elliott or Cowboys hate blind you. Zeke is a top 5 talent on what I view as a top 10 offense in the NFL. Let’s acknowledge the greatness.

It takes a 6 game suspension to keep Zeke from rushing for over 1000 rushing yards.  That same season was the only time he rushed for under 300 carries as he hasn’t showed up on the injury report since the 2016 pre-season. This is a physical freak who doesn’t miss games running behind an offensive line that is always one of the best in the NFL.

Tony Pollard is a very solid backup who will see some time late in games, but this is the Zeke show. He is an every down back who got paid to be the workhorse. Ezekiel Elliot might be the safest bet for 1000 rushing yards next season.
