Top 10 Best Players in NHL History – #2 Gordie Howe
#2 – Gordie Howe
When Gordie Howe was 16 he quit school during the Depression to pursue his hockey career. I don’t support quitting high school, but for I can’t lie this turned out to be a great move. Gordie Howe broke the league when he joined the Red Wings. 32 seasons later he was unanimously regarded as the greatest hockey player ever.
This man spent 5 different decades in the NHL with 25 of those seasons spent with the Red Wings. Over that time he won four Stanley Cups while also earning six MVPs.
Not only was he elite as a scorer and passer, but he was also an elite fighter. It takes a true legend to accomplish the Gordie Howe hat trick of 1 goal, 1 assist and 1 fight.
This was the guy you wanted to be the face of your league. His stats and accomplishments will stand the test of time.

Top 10 Best Players in NHL History – #1 Wayne Gretzky
#1 – Wayne Gretzky
Oh the Great One. Want to know the all-time leader in goals? Wayne Gretzky. All-time leader in point? Wayne Gretzky. Most goals in a season? Wayne Gretzky. Most assists in a season… well you get the point. This man holds all of the most prevalent records in NHL history because well, he’s the great one.
He was on a completely other level in terms of ability and it showed. Gretzky seemingly toyed with his opponents and had his way with some of this most legendary NHL highlights ever. He revolutionized the sport and paved the path for guys like Crosby and Ovechkin today.
I foresee the year 2569 when someone comes close to the records of Wayne Gretzky.
