NBA Top 10 Best 3-Point Shooters Ever – #2 Ray Allen

#2 – Ray Allen

You could easily argue that Ray Allen should be #1 on this list due to his full body of work. He was the first elite volume shooter currently sitting 1st all-time in both 3-pointers made and 3-pointers attempted.

He was also one to rise to the occasion. Ray Allen hit many game-winning shots, but his most clutch shot was in game 6 of the 2013 NBA finals. That shot tied the game and forced a game 7 leading to an NBA champion.

That being said all of his single season records have been surpassed by the #1 player on this list. If he were to play today in the 3-point heavy NBA, that may be a different story, but I can’t justify ranking Ray Allen as the best 3-point shooter ever.

#1 – Stephen Curry

Not only has he surpassed nearly every single season record for 3-point shooting, but he has shattered them. James Harden is 2nd all-time in 3-pointers made in a season with 378 while taking 1028 shots from deep. Stephen Curry holds the record with 402 3-pointers made, but only took 886 which is 142 shots fewer than Harden. He also holds the 3rd and 4th spots for this record.

I could about his other impressive records, but there are a lot to mention for the 5x 3-point leader. This is a guy who is one of the greatest ball-handlers in NBA history allowing him to embarrass defenders with his crossovers before hitting the shot from deep.

It’s clear that Stephen Curry is at the forefront for this changing NBA. There has never been a shooter like him and I think it will take decades for someone to pass him in the record books. He will be on a tier of his own.
