#5 – Steve Nash

I talked about how Larry Bird’s stats would sky rocket in today’s NBA and the same goes for Steve Nash. We all know him as one of the best passers ever, but his extreme efficiency and clutchness from deep was the icing on the cake which brought him two MVP awards.

Steve Nash said it himself that he would be attempting 20 shots a game if he were playing today. That’s a bold statement considering he averaged 1.4 3-pointers a game when he was in the NBA.

I will say that he was one of the most technically sound players ever. If he attempted 10 shots per game like Stephen Curry does, I believe that he would have finished his career in the top 3 or 5 for pointers made.

#4 – Kyle Korver

Stephen Curry has garnered all the attention for best 3-point shooting seasons ever. That leaves people sleeping on the impressive seasons of Korver.

He was not nearly the volume shooter of Curry, but instead operated on extreme efficiency. He has led the NBA in 3-point percentage 4 different times more impressively shooting for 54% from behind the arc over the 2009-10 season.

From 2012-2014 he hit a three-pointer in 127 straight games which only recently was surpassed by Curry.

#3 – Reggie Miller

I wish there was a stat accounting for most shots hit with a hand in their face. While he shot for under 40% from behind the arc over his career, Reggie Miller’s percentage was upward trending when it was a shot to win the game. Time and time again he hit seemingly impossible shots in clutch to cement his spot in the top 3.

What made it even more special to watch was the fact that he was one of the best trash talker ever. Before the shot, during the shot and after the shot he was talking to his defender letting him hear it.

Reggie Miller currently sits 2nd all-time in 3-pointers made and attempted, but that will soon be surpassed.
